What is Zong?

Your user sends an SMS message containing your KEYWORD to a SHORTCODE. For example GO to 88999. The message is routed through the user's mobile operator with which Zong has contractual and technological relationships. The mobile operator routes the request to Zong which directs and manages the request through the application you created and sends the appropriate response/content back to the user.

When accessing or using your service, users will be billed according to your wishes either on their monthly mobile invoice or through live debit of their prepaid account (configurable on Zong). The mobile operator takes a commission on each transaction for handling billing, collection and credit risk. It then pays the remaining amount to Zong. Zong then pays you the revenue generated by your service minus a small transaction fee that can be as low as 3% of what it gets from the operator (* % varies according to volume, the more volume, the smaller the fee).
